Willis Jenkins wanted to inspire Christians to exercise faith in God as well as in contemporary science—science which suggests humans are damaging the earth God created. So he did like any good academic does; he wrote a book called Ecologies of Grace, which explores how being saved as a Christian is intimately connected with saving nature. But the book left him unsatisfied because the urgency of climate change can’t wait for the world’s conversion to Christianity. So he wrote another book, this time taking a more pluralist approach, called The Future of Ethics: Sustainability, Social Justice, and Religious Creativity. Jenkins articulates a vision where people with radically different belief systems come together to solve problems that impact us all.
